You have made it to the final round of interviews! Congratulations are in order for making it this far, especially since that means that you definitely have the job, right?

Wrong.

Just because you have made it to the final round of interviews does not mean that it’s time to mentally accept the job, and in this episode, I am breaking down the very real, very overlooked truth about final round interviews: they’re still interviews. You haven’t crossed the finish line yet, and treating it like a victory lap could cost you dearly.

I walk you through what it actually means to be a final round candidate and how to handle it like the strategic candidate you are. We’re talking about mindset, like how to stay sharp without spiraling, and I share what to prep for, how to read the room, and why cultural fit isn’t just a buzzword that HR throws around. You'll also hear why enthusiasm beats arrogance every single time, and when to definitely not bring up salary or perks!

I also share with you why sending a thank-you note isn’t optional but is necessary, why continuing to apply elsewhere isn’t disloyal, and how to handle it if things stall or, worse, disappear. Final rounds are definitely important, but again, they are not a guarantee, and I want you walking into that room prepared, focused, and fully aware of what’s still at stake.

This isn’t about being paranoid but rather about being smart. It’s about showing up with clarity, confidence, and a killer game plan that reminds them exactly why you are the one they’ve been looking for, so let’s get into it!

Key Takeaways:

  • Final round interviews are so important and shouldn't be taken lightly.
  • Prepare thoroughly by researching the company, its values, and mission.
  • Focus on showcasing your cultural fit and enthusiasm for the role and the company!
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, body language, and attire; first impressions matter!
  • Ask thoughtful questions about the role, challenges, and growth opportunities to show your interest.
  • Avoid discussing salary and benefits at this stage, as the focus should be on your fit for the position.
  • Follow up promptly with thank-you notes! after each interview, as it shows appreciation.
  • Stay positive and persistent, as the right job is out there!
